Yesterday, a good friend asked me if I would be interested in making soap with her for the holidays. She's an experienced soap maker and has made soap from scratch for many years now. She's actually made soap as favors for weddings. Anyhow, we are gathering our collective equipment and ingredients to begin in earnest as Christmas will be here in the blink of an eye. We're going to focus on honey and goat's milk soap with lavender fragrance. It should be so fun!!!
I also offered, since my forte is in the kitchen, that we can make some home made candy as well. I'm thinking peanut brittle, chocolate dipped toffee and various flavors of truffles... basically all the good stuff. It's the beginning of October but hand made gifts take time and planning so we're getting to it straight away.

Mmm. Toffee. I also like white chocolate/peppermint bark: melt white chocolate, fold in crushed candy canes, and let it cool. Easy and yummy.
Is it my imagination, or do I only like candy that sticks in my teeth? "Some for now, some for later..." ;)
I'm also thinking jellies or conserves.
So, how does one make soap?
